Here are my original comments when I created this one...Love it!

I have talked about this show so many times in several different threads I figured it deserved its due. I believe Phil was the key to this evening’s performance. He really leads the way pretty much throughout, and especially through the whole Cryptical sequence. The Jam in fast 8’s is probably one of the hottest things the band has ever done, and amongst my very favorite. Pigpen’s vocals sound as good as they ever have during Man’s World. This entire show is top notch, and in no doubt influenced by the four night run with Miles Davis at The Fillmore that finished only three days prior. Enjoy and Cheers!

yes skobud! love this show, not much to add, its an absolutely incredible performance. that Jam during The Other One is outrageous, the band is channeling Santana like i've never heard anywhere else. i would like to say also that the Dancin' is pretty great too.

Let's see, you picked "incredible," SDH went for "immense" ... I'll add an "incandescent" ...

And is this the only time they went from a TOO > CE into Dire Wolf? It's really neat how that just materializes ... "and now for something completely different!" You can just hear how the music is playing the band: the astounding TOO jam, a well-nigh perfect CE > TOO > CE, and then, of all things ... the wolf decides to come on in.

Am listening now. Clearly at around 6:00 into Dancin we get the "Beautiful Jam" from almost a year later. This is definitely not just a precursor to that jam but the actual jam itself just slightly different as was everything they did.

Everyone is citing TOO as the highlight but I think the Dancin is. It goes all over the place and sounds like so many OTHER songs that it is almost unbelievable that they manage to get back to the song after all the intense jamming that takes place in the middle of this monster.

WoW!

I don't think the Beautiful Jam is the same as the Tighten Up jam, or even that close other than sharing the chords, but it's been much-debated.
For instance, in this thread:

Are you saying the jam I am referencing in the Dancin IS the Tighten Up jam? I've never been able to pinpoint that jam so I don't know what it sounds like.

Yes, they do it for 4 or 5 minutes in that Dancing; Jerry finally breaks out of it to do that Cosmic Charlie-like riff.

Thanks LIA, I gave that a listen. I got what the Tighten Up jam is now. What other songs do they usually play it in?
